I found a BBC article that I thought might be of interest to those wondering about the value of purposeless walking. Definitely applies to walking the camino.

Anonymity – I forgot to mention that in my observations from 2 days ago. The camino is like a great equaliser. Rich or poor, famous or not – you just don’t know who you’re walking next. Everyone is the same on the Way. And in the end, does it matter?
